We provide you with answers to possible questions here:
How will my contribution be honoured?
We will honour the selected contributions with a free registration for the main author for the entire congress (3-day ticket).
Selected contributions for the poster session will be honoured with a free registration for the day of the poster session (1-day ticket).Contributions that are sponsored by companies and/or deal with the specific presentation of products or aids will not be honoured.
How will the contributions be selected?
From February 2025, the congress team will select all contributions in a review process. All contributions will first be viewed and prioritised anonymously. When compiling the congress program, this will then result in content priorities or exciting references. All authors will receive feedback as early as possible.
Selection for the special presentation area
The special presentation area at the UK Congress offers a unique platform for creatively designed contributions that are carefully selected by the scientific team. The focus here is on formats such as readings, musical performances and other interactive elements that offer visitors an active and inspiring experience. The spatial concept is deliberately designed to be open and inviting in order to encourage interaction between participants and facilitate dynamic dialogue. Despite this openness, great importance is attached to creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere in which creative ideas can unfold in a focussed environment. What transparency rules apply to my contribution?
We know that there are many overlaps in the field of AAC, both in terms of content and on a personal level: quite a few AAC users, family members and people involved in the field or in science also earn money with AAC as professionals. The fact that it is important for congress participants to be able to understand this has been made very clear time and again in past congress feedback.
When submitting your contribution, please provide as much detail as possible about the products and aids that you will be discussing in more detail.
For your presentation, we would like to ask you to start by explaining your relationship to the products and aids.
Will my contribution be available online?
At this congress, we would like to stream individual contributions live via the Internet and/or record them on video and thus possibly also make them accessible to congress participants after the live congress. When submitting your contribution, please indicate whether you would agree to a live broadcast and/or video recording.
Are there any other guidelines or instructions?
AAC is directly aimed at removing barriers to communication. Please take this into account when preparing your contribution. Please use tools for barrier-free presentation, such as subtitling and visualisation. Use simple language!
We will endeavour to provide you with further specific information on how to make the Congress as accessible as possible.
